A thought occurred to me last night as my wife and I read this - TopicsExpress

A thought occurred to me last night as my wife and I read this scripture. I am not presenting this as doctrine, but for consideration only. We know that Moses and Jesus fasted for 40 days. I personally have known preachers who fast for prolonged periods of times for specific reasons. But, I just wonder if generally, it is not a good idea for healths sake to fast more than 3 days??? Look at what Jesus said about these folks who had gone without for 3 days. He feared that they would FAINT if they left in that condition. So, he performed the miracle of the seven loaves and a few fishes and feed them ALL before he sent them away!!! The crowd numbered 4,000 men plus women and children. The most conservative estimate is likely 12,000 people who were filled with seven loves and a few fishes!!!! AND THERE WERE SEVEN BASKETS FULL LEFT OVER!!! Little is MUCH when God is in it!!! Matthew 15:32-39 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude? And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children. And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala. (KJB)
