A thought you might share anytime as you know someone in need of rehoming a pet. Sure, some rehoming is needed due to elderly life changes and similar--but many many are not. Rescues typically do an adoption application, as a safety net--AND anyone can get one online to use.YOU do not have to be a rescue group to do this process. Sure, it is not perfect, but better then not doing it!! In rescue groups the success rate is pretty darn good! DO NOT treat these animals like throw aways, folks!!! Stop posting and throwing away into the arms of who ever will catch that animal. Sure some are worthy homes that they go to---but---- if we could track success rate on these give way sights locally--what would your guess be??! Sure, some potentials want to say I have had dogs all my life yadayada in protest of the application. Do you want someone who gets it (aka true animal lover who knows this is best and they will pass the sniff test & be patient) -or so you want that arrogant impulsive impassionate new owner? If you have no compassion for the future of the animal you committed to and now can not live up to---do not expect much from the next in line to quickly say yes, I will take it.
