A top Syrian politician was assassinated by armed men early Wednesday outside his home in south Lebanon, local media reported. The pro-regime political expert, Mohammed Darrar Jammo, was shot to death in Sarafand at around 1:30 am, the National News Agency said. "Mr Jammo was shot dead by armed men...as he was about to enter his home in Sarafand where he lives with his Lebanese wife," a Lebanese security official told AFP.
