A totally nostalgic experience during the 3 days Homestay vacation a Kuala Medang, Pahang, an hours drive frm Cameron Highland Malaysia! Always wanted to try something new & a different mode of commuting for this short holiday, thus no time was wasted in selecting the Rail Homestay package – a no regret decision! Got to experience a truly kampung atmosphere with lots of kampong fun filled activities - gathering(kenduri), fishing, boating, deer farming, visiting the Orang Asli settlement, boat making, blow-pipe shooting, kelulut honey rearing. Local delicacies like gulai tempoyak ikan patin, Yellow Mee(noodle), local specialty sambal hitam and their traditional hand made kueh mueh is a must try. We mingled with the kampong folks whilst having our relaxing afternoon teh tarik at the roti canai kopi shop situated near the river bank. The sound, smell, a short heavy rain and the slow pace of the kampung lifestyle and the community Gotong-Royong spirit brought back fond memories of Singapore in the early 70s.
