A traffic bulletin from DelDOT about traffic concerns for Labor - TopicsExpress

A traffic bulletin from DelDOT about traffic concerns for Labor Day weekend follows: The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) reminds everyone that roads may be congested with vacationers and out-of-state travelers this holiday weekend. In an effort to ease traffic congestion throughout the long weekend, planned lane closures on Route 1, I-95, and U.S. Route 202 will be suspended beginning at noon on Thursday, August 28 and resume at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2. Emergency maintenance work in the event of a traffic accident or other unpredictable circumstances may cause delays or lane closures. DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center will monitor and adjust traffic signals for heavy congestion or incidents. Motorists can contact the TMC 24/7 to report any travel or traffic related issues at the following numbers: Dial #77 from any cell phone; (302) 659-4600; or 1-800-324-8379. We encourage motorists to use DelDOT’s App on their smart phones and tablets. The app can be downloaded free at the Apple and Google Play stores or go to DelDOT.gov and click on the link to stores. Motorists who have E-ZPass will be able to maintain regular highway speed through the E-ZPass Highway Speed Lanes at I-95 Newark, Route 1-Biddle’s Corner, and Route 1-Dover Toll Plazas. DART First State bus services, both fixed route and paratransit, will not operate on Monday, September 1, with the exception of the Resort Transit Routes 201-208, its related paratransit service, and Route 305 – Beach Connection. Monday, September 1 is the last day of operation for Route 305 – Beach Connection; however, the Resort Transit Routes will continue to provide a reduced service schedule through Sunday, September 14, serving Rehoboth, Lewes, Georgetown, Dewey, Bethany, Fenwick Island and Ocean City, MD. Transit information can be found at DartFirstState Motorists may also stop at the I-95 Service Plaza in Newark or the Smyrna Rest Area just off of Exit 119 on Route 1.
