A tragic Story of a Woman of Aloosa, Bandipora* Saida Begum wife of Abdulla Bhat from Aloosa Bandipora is in trauma ever since her three sons were martyred by Indian military. Her three sons namely Shaheed Bilal Bhat, Shaheed Ayoub Bhat & Shaheed Azad Bhat attained martyrdom. She often got up during night and told her daughter to open the door as her sons are calling her and want to meet her. She is in trauma and goes to graveyard & sit on the empty place between the two graves of her sons Ayoob & Bilal and says “I have asked village heads not to bury anyone in between the graves of my two sons. I want my third son Aazad who has also been killed by army to be buried here. He was killed at border but police did not handover his dead body to me,” . Her son Ayoob was martyred in 1994 at kursu and three months later her another son Bilal was martyred at Quil muqam. Her third son Azad was martyred during an encounter at line of control. This is a very poor family and they lost all sons, they were now left with a daughter shakeela. Becoz of poverty & in order to make both ends meet she got her daughter shakeela married to a person Riyaz ahmed, who used to work as labour and he worked hard to provide this family food and water for almost one year, Riyaz Ahmed look after the family for one year & he also joined freedom struggle and achieved martyrdom. Few months later Abdulla Bhat also passed away and it was an another shock to family, Now this family has only two members Saida begum and her widowed daughter shakeela. The family since Abdullah’s death has been living in poverty. As Saida leaves the graveyard, she says with a sigh, “I do not know am I most fortunate mother or most unfortunate mother in the world. Almighty bestowed me four sons including my son in law but they all got martyred. I am waiting for the moment when I will close my eyes forever and will be together with my sons in heaven.” .This family lives in a very poor condition but they refused to accept govt relief and even some local pro-Indian politicians approached her for help, but this brave woman refused saying she can die of hunger butt cannot make a sellout of martyrs blood, and cannot accept any help from killers and gadaars. May the soul of martyrs rest in peace and jannat ul firdous.
