A training band of very heavy rain is impacting portions of Travis and Williamson Counties in Central Texas. Local rain gauges indicate rain rates 2 to 3 inches per hour impacting the northern Austin metro east into Webberville. Pflugerville reported 2.63 of rain during the last 90 minutes. Should thunderstorms continue to back build this could result in an extended period of heavy rain and a significant flash flooding risk in parts of Austin, especially from Downtown Austin north to Highway 183 and Baker Lane.
