A trip of my lifetime. South Africa has been one of a kind, a visual romp with elephants, a ride with zebras and in awe with wildebeests. Africa is what I expected, wild, mystical and above all, a huge cultural experience. Earth tones and huge colours, people oblivious to the heat of the sun, modern and ancient at the same time, human emotions openly displayed everywhere, large traffic, huge space, massive bush and trees, fruit readily available from bananas to pecans, ancient customs and so much more that we do not have here. South Africa is a haven for wild animals. I have seen them all in their natural habitat and it is difficult to think that they are free to roam on their own land when we are used to seeing them in a zoo setting. It took a bit of getting used to. I will return there some day.
