A true Christian is “walking dead” for the most part. Crucifying the flesh, dead to sin and live to Christ, burying the old man, whatever you wish to call it, we are called to be dead – at least to the world and its influences. We simply cannot function as the Bride of Christ if we tend to be unfaithful… with self. Jesus was fully human. He had to eat. He had to drink. He had to sleep (at least some). Yet, the Scriptures do not speak of Him going to the market shopping, or talking to the disciples about His new designer robe. His focus was on those suffering around Him, those who were lost… “without a Shepherd,” THE WILL OF THE FATHER!!! I spent a lot of years wondering what God’s will was for me – but it wasn’t until I took “me” out of the question and set my eyes on Jesus and who He was, that God began to reveal his direction for my life. No “me,” only Thee… Beginning to see how the Church is greatly to blame for the shape of our nation? Read Galatians 2 and I’ll be back tomorrow. :)
