A true hero of freedom and a great Russian dissident passed - TopicsExpress

A true hero of freedom and a great Russian dissident passed yesterday. At 19, Valeriya Novodvorskaya went to the Red Square to protest against the Russian tanks invading Czechoslovakia. Soviet tyrants sent her to psychiatric asylum for her bravery and commitment to peace and freedom. It did not break her. To the contrary, since then she has been true to the bravery of her young years. She was threatened and targeted, but still was the fiercest opponent to Russian wars in Chechnya, Georgia and Ukraine. As well as the most fearless defender of the freedoms of Russian citizens. I have lost a true friend and a role model. And so did all freedom loving people in our region and beyond. She was everything Putin and his cronies are not. Another Russia that will ultimately triumph and throw the KGB and its servants inside and outside Russia in the garbage of history. We Georgians will never forget the few Russians that stoop up for our freedom when we needed it most. RIP Valeriya Novodvorskaya
