A true music directors job is to create music that makes his musicians shine..... If get stuck on a solo its a directors job to guide them through the process of working it out.... Why is that I like the way the LA Philharmonic sounds today more than ever?? Dudamel thats why... Same players but new energetic director with vision.....if you consider yourself a director you Must!! prove that you are worthy of doing it..
