The responsibilities of the position include: * Ensure that all building maintenance is carried out in a professional manner with no quick fixes * General understanding and ability of carrying out tasks for: Painting, plumbing, electrical & carpentry * Watching over contractors where necessary and ensuring that work executed is of high levels of quality. * Ability to work either individually or as a member of a team * Maintaining the correct levels of tidiness * Accountability for all tools * Display effective and appropriate communication skills In order to be considered for the position, the following requirements must be met: * Completed Matric certificate * Minimum 3-4 years * Knowledge of general handyman experience * Certification in formal training for maintenance will be advantageous * Must be fluent in English * Ability to work unsupervised * Own cell phone (incoming calls) * Own transport Behavioral Competencies: * Positive attitude * Working with People * Planning and organizing * Coping with pressures * Delivering results and exceeding customer expectations * Strong customer service and awareness skills * Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner * Major focus around deadlines, communication and work tidiness * Self and time management * Attention to detail and quality * Ability to be self-driven * Contributing to team success * Demonstrate sound work practices, i.e. punctuality, reliability, efficiency and honesty
