A very Good Morning to you from #livingblack. Whats it like in your part of the country today - cold, warm, just nice? Today we continue introducing you to the members of our awesome team...so far you have met Karla Grant, Laura Murphy-Oates, Hannah Hollis, Liz Deep-Jones, Bianca Schneller but now its time to introduce you to our lovely Production Coordinator Nevanka McKeon: WHO’S YOUR MOB AND WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? I’m very proud of my Indigenous and non-Indigenous heritage. Being a Kimberley girl from Western Australia, my mob are Nyul Nyul, Nyikina and Gija WHAT LANGUAGES, DO YOU SPEAK IF ANY? I speak a little German but it’s actually, probably, very bad German! WHAT’S THE ONE THING PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO LEARN ABOUT YOU? Along with a friend, I have sponsored two Balinese families to have their house built. It’s amazing that for under $1000 you are changing a family’s life and you realise just how lucky we are. I hope to sponsor many more in the years to come! WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR ROLE ON LIVING BLACK? Definitely the amazing team mates I have. They are creative, inspiring and good fun. I also enjoy the variety of work and opportunities MOST FAMOUS PERSON YOU HAVE INTERVIEWED? There have been many sporting identities and musicians etc. A highlight was definitely interviewing Mick Malthouse when he was the coach of my favourite team, the West Coast Eagles. But also interviewing Australian motorsport legend John Bowe was a highlight. I also enjoy speaking to every day mob, hearing their stories and what the issues are - this is what keeps me motivated and inspired! IF YOU COULD INTERVIEW ANYONE IN THE WORLD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY? For sentimental reasons, I’d have to say my Grandfather Albert Dann. He died when I was very young and I wish I got the chance to know him better and learn from him more IF YOU WON A MILLION DOLLARS, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH IT? Buy a house, buy a boat so I can fishing whenever I want to, help my family out, lots of travel, sponsor another Balinese family and invest anything that may be left over FAVOURITE FOOD? Seafood, Thai, Indian, BBQ, Yum Cha, Goanna/Turtle/bush food from back home FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION? I love travelling so this is a hard one. I do enjoy the beauty of New Zealand and Dravuni Island (Fiji), Bali and a few places in Europe like Italy, Switzerland etc. But nothing beats going back home to Broome/Loongabid to be with my family FAVOURITE MOVIE? I don’t have one. I really enjoyed Bran Nue Dae and the Sapphires and felt so proud of these films. I like everything from thrillers, true stories, to dramas, romance to comedy. And Gerard Butler is quiet easy on the eye! ;) FAVOURITE THING TO DO ON WEEKENDS? Relaxing, watching movies, going fishing, shopping, eating, dancing, catching up with friends, having fun and as Sydney is still new to me, exploring this fun and exciting city.
