A very caring and insightful person from my Facebook Friends List made a comment in (yet another) thread-about-that-former-radio-star that she has the feeling that she just wants to hug everyone and make it go away. Yes. That feeling. I have been having that, too ... ... but despite that sensitivity to the impact hearing about all this is having on people (many people) the flow of revelations must not be stifled or silenced because that is nothing but continued grave injustice to the women, the survivors (such a better word than victims) ... ... but it *DOES* give the feeling of being *A LOT* and certainly is hard to absorb. I cannot and would not diminish the feeling some are having that it feels relentless and he or she needs a break from hearing about it. (And, if you feel that way, *DO* take a break from consuming it, from reading about it either in mainstream newspapers or via social media. When it comes on the radio or T.V. ... change the channel, dial down the volume on the radio, use the T.V. mute button, go for a walk outside instead ... whatever it takes.) ... but that is *NOT* the same as demanding that others stop giving their attention to it. Dont demand that. That is not the same as requesting that others stop sharing information about it. Dont ask that. That is not the same as trying to silence those who have never met this former radio star but who are presently finding a voice to say, Something similar happened to me involving a different man and I want to open up about it ... now ... here ... with people I sense I can trust. Dont try to silence them. Why? Well, I can only answer for myself: if they are strong enough to survive through the parts of this that were inflicted on them, who am I to be so weak that I cannot listen to what they urgently need to voice and to stand witness to it with them?
