A very damaging an often secretive aspect of Domestic Violence is verbal abuse. When I was in the beginning stages of my recovery from Domestic Violence my therapist recommended a book to me that rocked my world called The Verbally Abusive Relationship. It really resonated with me not only because of my failing marriage but it helped me to understand myself better. I undeniably had a pattern when it came to my selection in men that always somehow concluded with me feeling used, abused, and misunderstood.
