A very entertaining board game reminded me of an important life lesson this evening: It was my turn. I was two points away from winning, and I prematurely began my victory march. As I prepared to announce my conquest, my stomach sank as I realized that I had made a serious error in judgement. I had fixated on one narrow strategy for winning while overlooking a significant detail that ultimately cost me the game. Lesson: Its not over until its over. Think broadly. Pursue strategic balance.
