A very intriguing article (posted 2 statuses below this one) made a point that even I had never contemplated before. It is not what you want, but what you are willing to suffer for. When I think of life from this perspective, my list of priorities is narrowed significantly. The list: My family, friends, true love, skiing, writing, art, nature, new experiences, and deep connections to name a few. These are all things that I am willing to fight for. The things which are so important to me that I have learned to love the pain that comes with attaining and sustaining them. I will drag myself through hell to prove to my family that I love them unconditionally. I will gladly embrace the sore muscles, ridiculous prices, and bitter cold to have the unmatchable rush and freedom I feel while skiing. And I will fall and fail and fall again until I find someone who loves me with as pure a heart and with as fiery a passion as mine for them. And for my friends, I will tear down the walls that I had so strategically places to allow myself to fully share who I am and make lasting connections. It is my hope that I can always bring this idea with me, and that the focus it gifts me will help me to remember that I only have one shot at every day of my life; if it doesnt happen now, there is no tomorrow.
