A very nice gathering in John Shannons memory. Rain necessitated a last minute move from the park to Kathy Sederholms home close by where Kathys son, Scott and Johns Rat Pack buddies from school had spent so much time. Johns CD music was playing off and on throughout the evening as we gathered and exchanged greetings and memories. In addition to the hamburgers and hot dogs there was a lot of delicious food as is usual at pot lucks. Carol and I played flutes, Hutch, another old buddy of Johns, played guitar and yet another buddy of Johns provided some awesome keyboard playing and vocals. The evening ended with a very moving tribute, lights were turned off and everybody was given a small clear plastic cup with a tea candle burning inside to hold during the final moment of silence as a tribute to John’s life and his passing. A wonderful tribute to and for John. Kathy, a special thanks to you for the last minute change in location.............. and opening your home and your heart to us all.
