A very pertinent comment from a friend who is himself a religious - TopicsExpress

A very pertinent comment from a friend who is himself a religious scholar: I chose not to go to the local prayers. For I guess the imam would speak of the slaughter of Muslims in Gaza. And say little of the slaughter of Christians in Iraq and Syria. Something is terribly wrong when I, who have dedicated most of my life to the study of religion, can no longer feel comfortable in any religious gathering..be it of Christians, Muslims, or Jews. God has become a bigot....or is presented as such. Either way, reality has become increasingly painful. And this has ony whetted my desire for seclusion, keeping all preachers of religion at a distance. Most of all the purveyors of scripture.
