A very recent incident - My father-in-law bought a Wagon R car - TopicsExpress

A very recent incident - My father-in-law bought a Wagon R car recently and paid 550 rs for the HSRP number plate registration to AutoHitech (dealer) for that. Now they said nothing else needs to be paid for this. Well sounds fine?? Yesterday he went to Beltala Motor Vehicles for the fixing of those plates at the scheduled time. He was surprised to see a long line almost 5 cars already stuck at the gate. Why?? Around 5/6 lofer and mastaan type people were demanding 1500 from every car if they want to get their plates fixed. At morning 9.30 am already one guy among them was full drunk. No amount of requests or polite or even rebuke from drivers or owners in the queue was working with those bustards. They were telling all, right on the road, in front of all, without paying exactly 1500rs no one can even move their car 1 inches from there. By that time queue became 7 cars long. Finally my father-in-law and all others had to pay. And this is not the end. When my father-in-law wanted a bill/receipt against the money paid for fixing the plates, they flatly refused. Now I cant believe such blatant extortion can go on at such a place right at the gate without local netas/administration and police personnel knowing it. Obvious it can go on as the lucrative and easy money gets shared with those scoundrels also. I know its easy to say . . ohh Kolkata is finished, nothing good can happen to it anymore, businesses are going out of it, talented people are leaving it, sick men are running crazy like its their playground - doing anything from snatching, looting, extortion, dacoity, gang rapes and even burning of rape victims and many other type of du-numbaari kaj (Sharda Group scandal). Problem is I cant say that, I love my city still and want it to change and contribute to its change in whatever way possible. So request all, who love Kolkata, to like and share my post.
