A very sad week for me. This week I lost four very close ones. Firstly it was my cousin, a nurse who died due to the Ebola Virus. Her family was quarantined and even when one of her children started showing signs and after several call no one from the health ministry visited them. After two days, her husband took the two children to the Ebola centre. Today I took food for them and it was a very difficult moment knowing that I might not see them again. Then it was Dr. Buck, an associate and former President of SLEFES Njala University. She was a point of motivation to us and used her commitment to study Medicine in her 40s to challenge youths. I am also very close to her two children who also served in leadership in the different fellowships. Her family is presently quarantined but by Gods grace none of them will test positive. Thirdly, it was Rita a long time friend from youth fellowship days and now staff of EFSL where I serve as Chairman of her department. Rita was in my house not too long ago to sign some documents and had fun with Meroma. We lost Rita after a short illness. Today while at the Hospital, I discovered that we had lost another SLEFES associate, a recent Nursing graduate. Hajara was engaged to another SLEFES associate and they were planning their wedding. Knowing this, just brought to mind that we might have lost more associates and students but due to the travel restrictions we will not know now. This week I also travel to the worse Ebola affected districts of Kenema and Kailahun and heard stories of entire families been wiped away and I saw villages almost empty because of the Ebola Virus.
