A very significant memory of my childhood. It became one of my favorite ice skating routines and its been a while since I revisited it. It holds deep symbolic value for my relationship with my mother. A relationship that has improved immeasurably, with much humility and honesty in a very short time. Eric Clapton wrote this song after the loss of his child. This performance happened just about 3 years after the death of my grandmother. A loss I still feel to this day. Today I simply cannot find the words to say how I feel about so many friends, daughters especially, who buried their mothers this year. I remember when my mother and I buried hers. So this post is dedicated to my #mom whom I love very, very much. Also, I just want to hold space for how all this grief is present in my life as precious moments temper it with love. Those moments are like tiny presents from Jehovah that allow me to smile through my tears. I look forward to watching my friends and family welcome back their mothers, their spaceships, their supersheroes. Precious you all are in the eyes of the One who made all things. Yours are, in fact, #precioustears. (((♡)))
