A very special 11:30am-1pm Ribbon Cutting celebration for the LEAF - TopicsExpress

A very special 11:30am-1pm Ribbon Cutting celebration for the LEAF garden in Niles today, having completed their garden project inside historic Niles California Nursery Company 20-acre park on Niles Blvd. Open to the public, free, expecting about 150 folks to high five Leaf (Local Ecology Agriculture Fremont). The California Nursery Co (est 1865) is an important milestone of LEAFs efforts to establish organic community gardens all over Fremont. The CA Nursery is also home to the Old Adobe, one of the oldest structures in CA. Its a 20 acre spread now, but at one time it was 500 acres, the largest tree nursery west of the Mississippi. Located at the corner of Nursery Ave and Niles blvd in Niles, a 1/2 mile north of downtown proper. Its free, enjoy yourself and the natural beauty there, quite a few mucky mucks will be there too (...contrary to common national stereotypes, the mucky mucks around are pretty nice folks :-)).
