A very special 13 and 1/2 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback named Copper passed away this evening, enveloped by the tremendous love of her family. Copper joined her family as a very young puppy, with giant ears and feet, and the adorable and photogenic face that persisted throughout her life. Copper was such a smart girl, and partly because she figured things out so readily, she quickly caught on to what was going to happen with things like baths and nails trims, which became big family affairs to get it all done! Copper loved to pose for pictures, and never even minded when her family dressed her so adorably in outfits. Copper was such a devoted family member, and although she was discerning about people at first, once she decided you were a good person, she was so loyal and loving. She had so much dignity as well, and partly for this reason, her family ensured she never had to lose this dignity, even as she aged and began to have more physical difficulties. Copper was a devoted Jewish girl, and was fortunate enough to pass away at such a special time, just before the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, and could not have been a more fitting time for her to pass away so peacefully.
