A very special message from Rabbi Jaime Aklepi: As we all sit down tonight in celebration of Passover, our hearts are a little less joyful because of the tragic killings in Overland Park, Kansas. Our prayers of comfort and healing go out to the victims, their families and the entire Jewish community. We pray for a more peaceful world and we dedicate ourselves to the prevention of senseless violence. We stand together as brothers and sisters, Kol Yisrael arevim ze-la-ze responsible for one another wherever we may be and under all circumstances. Those who have sought to destroy us, like Pharoah, are gone. Yet the Jewish people remain ever committed to redemption, freedom and service to God and community. Even in times of distress, we have found the faith to celebrate and look to a brighter future. May we be blessed this Pesach, with love for each other and pray for a future of joy and peace.
