A very unusual special is this tiny annual Rubiaceae. It is not endemic at all nor is it rare because it was almost weedily common where I collected it. Good thing I work for some Rubiaceae specialists at Meise and I aim to please them otherwise I would not even have bothered collecting such an indistinct little herb. It has now been identified as Mitrasacmopsis quadrivalvis, a name almost longer than the plant, and it turns out to be an entirely new species for Mozambique. In fact the closest places where it has so far been recorded from are Northwestern Zambia and Tanzania.
