A video from Sewanees Summer in Spain program last week, where pilgrims were on the Camino de Santiago: If a Spaniard sees an octopus swimming with eight legs, later that octopus gonna have six legs, Manu Iglesias gives us the proverb of the pulperia. In Galicia, the octopus is el pulpo. The pulperia is one of those traditional restaurants where locals get visitors to try some strange specialty. Here, it is a wooden plate of perfectly prepared octopus arms and white wine. Sewanee pilgrims Allan Palmer, C14, and Eric Roddy, C16, can tell you that those swimming Spaniards know what theyre doing.
