A visit to a home for the aged was organised by the benevolent SIO’s Management and the Principal of Vani Vidyalaya, to extend the happiness of Diamond Jubilee Celebration to the less privileged people of society on 18th September 2014. A team comprising of members of Management, Vice Principal of Junior College, Head Teacher of Primary section, Supervisor of Secondary Section, teachers from all three sections, NSS students and Senate members headed by President of SIO, Mr.C.V.Srinivasan, Hon Sec. Mr. V. Ramakrishanan, and the Principal Dr. Mrs. Dolly Henry reached the ashram in morning. They visited the dormitories and spoke to each and every inmate. At aroung 11am a special programme was organised in the hall by Junior College Students. Each inmate of the ashram was also presented a rose flower as a token of love and care. The day’s lunch was sponsored by Vani Vidyalaya. Teachers, students including Principal took pleasure in serving the aged people. According to the requirements of the ashram a stock of wheat, rice, edible oil, tea powder and soaps was donated to ashram.
