A visiting nurse came to my house a few days ago... He peeked at the stitches then quickly closed the dressing back esclaiming I need wound care. Instead of wrapping my leg back starting from the foot he wrapped it back from the ankle. Over the next few days my leg started to swell and today I couldnt take the pain anymore so I went to the Emergency Room where I had the surgery done. I felt like swelling was either a sign of infection or perhaps the bandage was way too tight. My discharge instructions was to not touch the bandage. Anyway when I got to the hospital the E.R staff mentioned the dressing should have been taken off days ago. The back of my leg had some how gotten shafted by the metal in the back of the brace. I had a huge circular wound in the back of my leg. The doctor re wrapped and put dressing on the wound in the back and told me I would have to change the dressing every single day now. Im wondering how can I do that when I cant bend my leg. Never the less I was happy to get some proper disharge instructions this time. When everything was done instead of waiting for my discharge papers I snuck on to the elevator to visit my old roomie Sisie Moss Mother... She reminds me of my grandma Ducky MY grandma had lung cancer and is no longer here. I actually dont have any grandmas at the moment so I quickly became attached to this woman and her family. She has 3 daughters and they remind me of my sisters and I. She was happy to see me since she did not have a visit today. We laughed and I called her daughter and they spoke for a while. She had her room all decked out with the bible and she still had the ballons and flowers I left with her on Wednesday when I was discharged. So now im home back to recovery time... ( Oh yes I borrowed a strangers phone to take pics of my black and blue leg since my camera on my phone is not working) It looks like I have 44 stitches. I was told they would make a small incision so seeing this made me drop the mike. I am very very grateful however that I still have a leg. Stitches and all.
