A volunteer writes: Castro really got the raw end of the stick. He is a real dermatological mess but with good care, love and the help of a veterinarian, he will emerge a gorgeous dog, a magnificent blue nose who will be the pride of his master. Castro is gentle, low key and walks very nicely and calmly by my side. He eliminates on the way. I think he feels a bit vulnerable and seems uncomfortable around pushy dogs. In the yard, Castro is relaxed, comes at the call of his given name and sits by my side for caresses. The unaffected parts of his coat feel like silk, He has very tender eyes and takes treats quite politly from my hands. Castro seemed rather thankful for his walk and the human attention. When I came back for him in the evening, he was quietly resting on his blankie. We went for a short stoll, a little petting. Castro needs to know we do love him... Castro is at the Manhattan Care Center.He is a project so worth to undertake. Come and meet him soon and take him home.
