A volunteer writes: Wow, what a turnaround this lovely lady has made during her time with us...get out your sunglasses because Star is ready to shine! Dont let that pretty face fool you, shes a tomboy at heart and more than happy to go out and play some serious sport. Star LOVES tennis balls and is a real athlete, snatching the ball mid-air or chasing it down in a flash. She likes to keep it for herself but theres no guarding issues here, I can smoosh her cheeks and rub her ears as much as I please and Stars wagging tail just keeps on going. She hasnt been taught to sit but instead waits for my throw by standing upright on her hind legs, wobbling a bit and resting a single paw on my belly if I take too long - so funny and cute! And I dont think fetch is the only game Star is familiar with either. When a group of kids walk by bouncing a basketball, even though we cant see them she instantly recognizes the sound and runs to the fence with an excited smile and perked ears, eager to join in the fun. This friendly girl is such a joy to spend time with and the way she has blossomed shows what a resilient and loving spirit resides in our little Star.
