A walk off wild pitch sent Kyle Stevenson home with the winning run in the bottom of the 7th as the Oshawa Minor Bantam Legionaires defeated the Leaside Leafs 3-2 tonight at KInsmen Stadium. In doing so the Legionaires punch their ticket to the Ontario Championship final today at 10am at the Stadium. The Legionaires will face the Niagara Falls Falcons in the final needing to defeat the undefeated Falcons twice to win the title. Games are 10am and when Oshawa wins that game the Grand final will be at 1pm. Go Oshawa. Kyle Stevenson and Connor Dorey were strong on the mound for Oshawa allowing only 5 hits while striking out 11 over the 7 innings. Connor Dorey was named the Durham College/McQuaid Bat Co. Player of the Game! Oshawa and Niagara Falls met earlier in the tourney with Niagara Falls winning out in a slugfest 11-9. Meaningful baseball in September is on deck for tomorrow. 10am Lets pack the Stadium. Admission is FREE! Go Legionaires!!
