A war going on inside my head has come to a simmer. I feel like the relationships you gain with people through social media is so superficial. It is not until you see someone in person that you get to really know who they are. You learn to know a person by how they interact with others, their maneurisms, the way they feel when shaking their hands or giving them hugs, the way they talk, etc. It is so real. I dont know a thing about someone behind a screen, all I see is this picture of who you were yesterday, when that is not who you are now. We have a list of friends that we dont even talk to or probably dont even know, but keep them on the list for the higher number of friends, the likes on our photos, and the shares of our status. There is so much sarcasm behind this screen, so unreal. I cant feel anything through this. I want to be able to interact face to face and actually get to know you all. We all just log onto this database of non existence, scroll down, and press home, Instant message some random person, watch some silly video off of some page you liked, than you click home again. Its all the same thing over and over again. We are missing so much more gluing our eyes onto our screens. Put your eyes back in your head. Give them a call, I want to hear your voice, make plans to see each other and interact completely. I dont want to see how you push buttons. I want to see who you are now. Not who you were yesterday. The thing is, this can be used effectively to keep a collective communication with the ones you have seen, and the ones you will continue to see. I dont want to be numbed out by this, I want to feel, i want to use this the right way, and keep in touch with my friends and family. Do not take it personally but if we are no longer friends on facebook, who cares. If you really wanna get to know me find my number through a network of your friends and give me a call. Just because its facebook official doesnt mean it is actually official, but as of right now if there is no effort towards real interaction, I do not need that. Cheers to the cleanse.
