A warm hello to all of you! This week I want to speak to you about being marked by God. The condition for being marked was not “how much I loved my neighbor” but it was in fact a holy grief, wailing and lamenting over things that were evil and causing the destruction of so many. To put it a little clearer, a concern over what was evil. How many of you hear anything about what is evil anymore? How many of us have ever really seen real revival in our streets? I am not talking about having better church attendance for a week; I am talking about seeing the power of God change people for good! The WORD of the LORD declares his favor in the time of destruction much differently than we do don’t we? Our culture accuses the LORD of being a murdering tyrant because we get justice from our conduct. As our troubles unfold, we see that God is watching us. We have been told by modern day charmers that the LORD only blesses those who “love” only and who respect our free will to decide what is good for us - I want to show you what the LORD says about this, turn to Ezekiel 9 v 1-11. “9 Then He called out in my hearing with a loud voice, saying, “Let those who have charge over the city draw near, each with a deadly weapon in his hand.” 2 And suddenly six men came from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, each with his battle-ax in his hand. One man among them was clothed with linen and had a writer’s inkhorn at his side. They went in and stood beside the bronze altar. 3 Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub, where it had been, to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed with linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn at his side; 4 and the Lord said to him “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.” 5 To the others He said in my hearing, “Go after him through the city and kill; do not let your eye spare, nor have any pity. 6 Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple. 7 Then He said to them, “Defile the temple, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” And they went out and killed in the city. 8 So it was, that while they were killing them, I was left alone; and I fell on my face and cried out, and said, “Ah, Lord God! Will You destroy all the remnant of Israel in pouring out Your fury on Jerusalem?” 9 Then He said to me, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of bloodshed, and the city full of perversity; for they say, ‘The Lord has forsaken the land, and the Lord does not see!’ 10 And as for Me also, My eye will neither spare, nor will I have pity, but I will recompense their deeds on their own head.” 11 Just then, the man clothed with linen, who had the inkhorn at his side, reported back and said, “I have done as You commanded me.” This is pretty telling isn’t it? Why don’t we hear this in your churches? I will tell you why - because it does not fit the agenda. Oh what would the church look like if it had people weeping and wailing over the nations sins?! What would it be like if we had praying moms and dads fighting for prayer over their children?! What would we be like as a nation in the capital if we would pray over our direction as a country?! I know, it may actually look like we were closer to heaven? But the church has run after its own desires more than the things of God. Our society will pay a price and when the final judgment does come, there will be no safety anywhere. Either you’re on the LORD’S side or you’re not! Frankly I am not concerned if you like the WORD of the LORD or not, but the WORD of the LORD will be heard. It does not need your approval, understanding, or editing. You will hear it and be saved, or you will hate it and perish. How much longer do you think we have? If you are in your 30’s to 40’s you should be the most concerned. Our world culture is quickly becoming something we can’t even recognize. When the hammer falls, and it will, we had better make sure we are seeing our hearts line up with what the LORD says and not what we say or you may end up not being marked by God when destruction comes. The way the world is going if you do not tear your heart now, you may not recognize what is happening before it’s too late. Your eternal friend David. 9/9/2013 (The Bible Page in Unity John 17)
