A warning to friends of Jacobs Chiropractic: With the recent changes in health care and insurance, a company called ASH has taken over Cigna health insurance. If you have a Cigna plan, you may think that massage and x-rays are covered under your plan. Unfortunately, ASH tells clients that they are covered, but denies payment to the provider. So Cigna designates a payment for the provider of the se...rvice and in the process ASH takes that payment as their fee. Bottom line is that patients pay premiums and are promised services and the money disappears. For this reason, we can no longer bill Cigna for massage or x-rays and expect any payment. Therefore, we have to charge our time of service fee. If you dont like it, call Cigna and complain. If you leave them, call and tell them why! If you are looking for a new insurance plan we advise you to AVOID CIGNA. We have found that Blue Cross is somewhat patient (and doctor) friendly. There are rumors that ASH will soon be taking over other insurance companies, but we dont know who or when. We always offer our time of service fee as an alternative to sneaky insurance companies.
