A weak tropical low lies over the northern Coral Sea to the southwest of the Solomon Islands. The low has been moving gradually southwestwards, and will likely continue with this track for a couple of days. Forecasts late in the week will be highly dependent on the development and movement of this low. A high over the Tasman Sea will weaken from late today, gradually relaxing the ridge along the east Queensland coast, this may give us the opportunity of more substantial shower activity. The ridge will then be reinforced by a new high moving east into southeastern Australia on Friday. Its this ridging that we have been continually experiencing that is stopping the development of any substantial rainfall in our region. GYMPIE: Wednesday... Partly cloudy.
