A wee bit of a gem of history. Film of a trip in 1928 from Glasgow - TopicsExpress

A wee bit of a gem of history. Film of a trip in 1928 from Glasgow to the island(s) of St Kilda, the remotest island in Scotland. 2 years before the last 36 inhabitants abandoned the island. The saddest thing is that every dog in the film was drowned the day before they left as they felt they would have no further use for them. The SS Hebrides returned a few weeks after the evacuation in 1930 and found the bay littered with the dead dogs. Sad. Still a great insight into a lost world. https://youtube/watch?v=W-CpkFgxx2I
