A week ago, as we headed into the weekend, we were all very concerned about what destruction typhoon Ruby might bring to the Philippines. Our sympathies are with those who lost family members, their homes or their possessions despite the Philippine Governments commendable efforts to prepare people and evacuate those at risk. In Samar, the Philippine Red Cross is releasing pre-positioned non-food items to those in need. These items were funded by the NZ Government after typhoon Yolanda. We hope the resilient communities affected are soon back on their feet.
