A week into my fundraising effort, I am achieving a solid level of fiscal discipline. I spent only $18.63, meaning I can toss 231.37 into the kitty, putting me well ahead of my $500 target for the month. Even better, Im finding that with a worthwhile goal, improving CSW NSC attendance and prestige, my ability to control my appetites is heightened. For example, while I enjoy coffee brewed manually on a Chemex, the batch-brewed drip coffee option, at half the price, is still great, and I can live with that for the next months, mostly. I am confident that you others who wish to contribute to the Collins cause will find the same thing, that with a goal to focus on, you do not neeeeeed *all* those little things that you spend money on week after week, month after month. A beer here, a hamburger there, a movie, a blouse, maybe put off that new iPhone, read that magazine at the bookstore instead of buying it, and little by little, savings accumulate, savings that could make a substantial in influencing the course of the 2015 NSC.
