A week or two ago one of our more unskilled neighbors tossed out a glass topped patio table that someone had broken the glass top of. My wife saw the table on the curb and salvaged it. Guess who got involved next? If you guessed her hubby (that would be me) you guessed right. The glass top was gone forever. However the table framework was made of high quality aluminium, and I had some A/C plywood laying around. Today that same piece of broken glass junk has been transformed into a wooden topped table that looks great and will function well as a table for 6 on our deck; unless the neighbor wants to buy it back, if the price is right. I might not recycle grocery bags but I have damn sure recycle almost anything else that can be re-made from the original. Does that make me into a Lib? God I hope not, but it does betray my farming roots.
