A weekend in Taif. After Maghrib prayer Ustaz Yusree delivered a short Tazkirah on About giving advice the way of Rasulullah, as a sequel from precious topic of Friendship the way of the Prophet. He also briefly covered the significance of Taif in the history of Islam and the Prophets life. The weather was cold but the soul was warm. We sat around a bonfire eating BBQ fish and chicken and sharing our life stories. Everyone has a story to tell. We listened. The level of trust increased in tandem with the heat from the bonfire. I shared my story of how I and Aishah first met...Aishah added her version of it, elaborating on some aspects. That was last night, which ended at mid-night. This morning began with Fajr Prayer together. At 8.30am we had a Masterchef competition amongst the men; working in teams of 2 and 3. The basic ingredients were flour, water, sugar, eggs and a kitkat chocolate bar. We were given 45 minutes to come up with a dish. The ladies were judges. I must say, the guys were very competitive and they came up with some good variations. The team of Sohaimi and Din was judged the winner; they came up with Roti Telor, Roti Chocolate, and Plain It has been a wonderful outing and I am quite sure everyone will bring back with them fond memories.
