A well of pure clean water may be just that. If someone approaches it with a tainted, ugly, filthy heart-goblet, it wont matter how much pure clean blessed water they draw up -- they will still be drinking filth. Sacred texts, and to a much lesser extent art, is very much like such a well. They are not legal documents where all parameters of every definition are clearly laid out. So, they will *always* be subject to gross misinterpretation. And such instances will *always* tell us more about how sick these individuals are, rather than the sacred sources they seek legitimacy in. May God save us from such sicknesses, and allow us to reflect His Mercy to each other and to the rest of creation. May He grant us the wisdom and foresight to recognize such ugliness for what it is and to reject it outright. Praying for peace in #Peshawar, #Sydney, #Syria, #Palestine, #Zambia, #UrbanJunglesEverywhere, #Rainforests, all around the world where even a single oppressed cries out, and the oppressor betrays his own spiritual filth by invoking a sacred scripture.
