A well-reputed FMCG Company is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for the following position: " Chief Accountant" Job purpose: Assist Finance Manager in all Accounting and financial reporting functions Responsible for the management of Account Dep. personnel Responsible for establishment and maintaining effective costing system. Responsible for Accounting period closure Duties & Responsibilities: In-charge for managing different accounting functions including but not limited to A/P, A/R, GL, Cash management, Fixed Assets, etc. Assist in tracing all inter-company transactions Responsible to meet accounting closure deadlines Ensure availability, and adequacy of Accounting policies and procedures, supervise and control adherence Support Finance Manager to execute multiple projects simultaneously Ensure all assignment’s documents are complete, up to date and stored appropriately Propose and support subordinates in the Training and orientation program Coordinate and prepare paper work, schedules, and reports. Reviews materials, reports, and work for accuracy Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with the Finance and other management members on issues related to Finance Perform special projects as needed Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated Ensure compliance with IFRS requirements. Maintain integrity of Accounting system (software), ensuring it remains effective and operational at all times. Co-ordinate annual budget preparation, provide assistance / direction when required to managers with regards to budget preparation, manage variances, and analysis Ensure proper compliance with Revenue and cost recognition rules Ensure cost and revenue are allocated correctly, taking corrective action where inconsistencies arise Ensure monthly accruals are adjusted to meet demands of the business Ensure completeness of management and financial reporting including but not limited to P & L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow reports, ageing of A/R & A/P, Project track reports, etc Liaise with External Auditors on annual audit reports Ensure the accurate and timely preparation / reporting of monthly financial package which should be prepared in accordance with management requirements. Supervise a smooth account reconciliation, and eliminate any redundancies in financial transactions Make himself available as coach / mentor in assisting subordinates to develop their skills and their works Ensure appropriate and professional communication system Delegate tasks to subordinates with closed supervision, and ensure job rotation of all assistants Ensure all reasonable steps are taken in order to achieve workplace harmony within Finance Department at all times. Establishment of KPIs for Account Team Skills Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of International financial reporting Standards (IFRS) Ability to stay current on trends and developments in Accounting Standards Ability to analyze and interpret accounting records. Experience working independently, strong self-motivation, and effective time management skills. Ability to determine work priorities and accomplish goals within limited periods of time while under pressure. Ability to deal tactfully, professionally, and courteously with Direct Manager, other management members, Appointed members, and other members of Multiform Ability to plan, organize and oversee the work of Finance staff. Good verbal and written English communication skills. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience (Preferably in an FMCG) Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
