A while ago, a facebook friend of mine, whom Ive since come to know as an atheist, posted yet another challenging post aimed at the Christian,.. The jest of the post was: If Jesus healed the blind man, why did he not just heal blindness? As I usually do, I read it and caution myself not to just say something in defence, but I meditated on it for a while and forgot about it. Yesterday early Sunday morning my mind was suddenly focused on that post and I had words coming forth in response to it, and I wrote it down, before I forgot it. It basically started off with the saying: There is none so blind as those that do not want to see!! And I was reminded of the verse: John 5v6: (The Leper) When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, Would you like to get well? He always asks/challenges us before he does..Its an invite. He is a gentleman, he will never force something on you that you dont want,...we have all been given free will. That man was ill for 38 years...He knew he was ill. It really has to begin by firstly: recognition of our darkness (blindness), admittance (vulnerability) thereof in front of him and willingness to want to turn from it into the light. So yes, my facebook friend...Jesus, WANTS to heal this world from Darkness/blindness, especially you, because he loves you beyond measure and wants a relationship with you...But do you want to get well? Do we want to see? That morning we attended our church service, and what do you think the sermon was on? :-) Darkness vs. Light...Let our light shine in this dark world!!! Thank you Lord Jesus, for all my facebook friends. May I continue to be a shining light in their dark world, and may they come to know you in a very special way because of it!! AMEN!!!
