A while ago there was a post about concern for the buckskin horse on the corner of Santa Ana in Santa Ana. Did anyone find out anything about her? Who owns her? Ive always seen her with her butt to the road looking depressed, but today I went by with my horse and she turned and looked at me. It was like somebody punched me in the gut. This mare used to belong to me. I rescued her from auction when she was skinny and pregnant. Im a gelding person, but I loved this mare. I meant to keep her forever. We just let her raise her baby for the first year and then I started riding her. Thats when I realized that she had little to no riding training. Thats when I also found out I was pregnant and had no business riding an untrained horse. I ended up selling her to someone I thought I could trust and then lost track of her. I have little extra cash to buy her back, but Id take her back in a heartbeat if I could find a way to do it. Right now Im just shaking and in shock and not sure what my next move should be. I am absolutely heartbroken that she standing there with manure up to her fetlocks looking so depressed in that tiny pen. I rescued her out of a bad situation once and I feel like I let her down to let her get in a bad situation again. :( The first picture is one I took of her today.
