A white tiger mauls to death an Indian school student at a New Delhi zoo Tuesday. The incident was filmed on a cell phone. Zoo officials say the schoolboy had jumped inside the animal’s enclosure, even after being warned by the security guards. The eye-witness who filmed the incident says the tiger moved quickly. “We had come to watch the tiger in the zoo. The tiger was sitting very far away. While trying to watch the tiger, the boy fell inside the enclosure. After he fell, the tiger came within two minutes. The tiger came and the boy was begging for his life for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Then the tiger attacked the boy with its paw and then moved back. Then someone from above tried hitting the tiger with a stone. Then the tiger came and held the boy by the neck with its jaw and then took him away.” Security officials were late to arrive on the scene and tried to hit the tiger with sticks, but by then the boy was dead. White tigers are considered an endangered species. There are no immediate reports on the fate of the tiger.
