A wise mama asks: I need some advice about tandem nursing. I have a 16mth old daughter that nurses frequently and is super attached to me. I love it BUT Im also 5mths pregnant and am having serious anxiety about how Im going to have time for the constant care a newborn needs let alone how to nurse them both. She cries when I get up to go to the bathroom and then has to latch on for a few minutes to feel reassured as soon as Im back. Its like that DAILY and its been this way since she was around 8-9mths old. I was told repeatedly it was a phase typical for her age but she hasnt grown out of it and I dont see an end in sight any time soon :( it doesnt bother me EXCEPT that this baby is coming and I dont know how to anticipate her reaction to me focusing on the baby...I spend every day and night with her, she even comes to work with me. Ive never been away from her more than a few hours. Do I need to start spending more time away from her? I do I just indulge her as much as possible to reassure her? My son-older and my only other biological child-was the COMPLETE opposite. Always very independent and easy going. Im at a complete loss and any input would help! Thank you kindly :)
