A woman stabbed her elderly partner 11 times during a drunken row - and even continued the fatal attack while on the phone to emergency services. Susan Hughes, of Norrington Road, Northfield, was found guilty of murdering Barry Wilkins after a four week trial at Birmingham Crown Court. Barry, 71, was stabbed in the stomach and shoulder on November 24 last year. Despite having extensive surgery, he did not recover and died in hospital five weeks later on New Years’ Eve 2013. Detective Sergeant Harry May, from the Homicide Case Progression Team, said: “Susan showed no remorse since Barry’s death or during the trial. He added: “Today our thoughts go out to the family for the tragic loss of Barry. He was a loved popular man, liked by all his family and friends.
