Temperatures reached 30 degrees Celsius at over 400 places, with a high of 36.3 degree Celsius recorded in the city of Tatebayashi in Gunma Prefecture , according the Japan Meteorological Agency. Twenty-five locations across the country including Kyoto saw temperatures soar over 35 Celsius degree, it said.
