A wonderful person I know lost her husband/best friend this weekend very unexpectedly and my heart hurts for her. I cannot imagine what she is going through nor the pain & turmoil in her life right now, but I do know that God is an awesome God and he will help comfort her and give her strength in her time of need. As I thought about this person & prayed for her and her family it lead me to reflect on life. I was reminded how short life can be and of our true purpose here on this earth to serve and share the Lord, as one day we all shall pass and leave everything in this world behind. There is a season for everything in life including death so I wanted to share a few scriptures, that comforted me in time of loss and pain, as a reminder of the Lords love, comfort, and promise to his children....Praise God and be blessed! This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24) Amen! Matthew 5:4 - Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 2 Corinthians Chapter 12:9-10 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christs sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Revelation 21:4 - And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. John 10:27-29 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Fathers hand. John 14:1-4 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. I Thessalonians 4:16-18 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
